My life really did look great, I had a wonderful fiancé, my Springer Spaniel, a lovely home in a beautiful village, a good job where I was well thought of in Insurance and was about to be married and go on the honeymoon of a lifetime snowboarding around Canada. These things did make me happy but there was something inside that never quite felt as joyful as everything looked, I was a pro at disguising it and my smiley persona hid a multitude of unhappiness.
My turbulent childhood and many coping mechanisms were catching up with me, they had become more healthy shifting from partying with alcohol and drugs to over achieving in work and exercise but they were still taking their toll, I had been taking anti depressants for around 15 years and had tried a couple of talking therapies but nothing worked in the long term.
I became ill with ME/CFS a couple of months before my wedding, and it would be a 4 year journey of healing, physically, emotionally and spiritually that would see me back to health and happiness. There were a number of things that aided my recovery such as meditation, yoga, nutrition and a great deal of rest, but the thing that created the biggest impact for me was the therapy, specifically EFT (Tapping) and NLP. These were game changing and not just with the illness, I was no longer depressed, I was no longer taking anti depressants and life felt easier, the struggle had eased.
During my recovery I retrained as a therapist and my business started in 2018.
Since then I have been working with others to find their happy while enjoying having my health back and being active. I took some time out to have my little girl, so I now have a very full life of being a Mum, as well as being a therapist and enjoying an active life, but most importantly I enjoy it, I'm happy and healthy. There are still ups and downs, challenges big and small, but they no longer pack the punch they once did, I can ride them and the emotions they bring up without the termoil they would once bring.

My therapeutic approaches
EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping
EFT is based on the principles of both ancient acupressure and modern psychology and is also known as 'Tapping'. Whilst simply stimulating acupressure points and focusing on an issue, both painful emotions and physical issues can be eased.
NLP - Neuro-Linguistic Programming
NLP is the systematic study of human communication and how we create our subjective world with all its pleasure and pain. It's is also the study of exceptional talent, of the patterns and programmes that allow people to get results.
Coaching is an empowering tool that can be used in personal, business and sporting situations to unlock a persons potential to maximise their own performance, helping them to learn rather than teaching them.
